Iva Majoli: Her Biography and Career
Iva was born in 1977 in Croatia and is a professional tennis player. She has an older brother and sister back home. Iva took correspondence courses to graduate from Bradenton Academy in 1996. Her other sport interests include ice skating, in-line skating, sno-skiing and jet-skiing. Her favourite music has gone from techno/dance to rock/dance and her favourite colors are black, white and red. Iva describes herself as a woman with a lot of energy and she likes to spend time with friends when she's at home. Places she enjoys visiting include Maui, Hawaii and Paris.

Iva Majoli took another step toward career rejuvenation last week. In 1997, she surprised the tennis world by winning Roland Garros, spoiling Martina Hingis' bid for the Grand Slam, but she hasn't been the same player since. Instead, she has battled injuries and waning confidence. In 2001, Majoli has shown flashes of her old brilliance, and last week she signaled she's ready to challenge for titles. Croatia's Iva Majoli, the 1997 French Open champion, announced her retirement from competitive tennis on Tuesday saying she lacked motivation.
