Li Na

Li Na (born February 26 , 1982, Wuhan, Hubei, China), is a professional women's tennis player from the People's Republic of China.
Between 1999 and 2004, she won twenty women's singles titles, nineteen of which were ITF events, and one (the first ever won by a Chinese woman) on the WTA Tour. A prodigious talent notable for her lightning-quick reflexes and athleticism around the court, her fast, exciting and generally accurate groundstrokes which she scatters unpredictably to all corners of the playing surface, and an eminently likeable on-court personality, she was previously disadvantaged by a two-year hiatus from competition in her early 20s, but since her return to the circuit at the age of 22 she has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with for the world's top players.
Li Na has frequently entered women's doubles tournaments at events where she has played singles, and has won one WTA doubles title and sixteen further ITF doubles events in her career to date, but overall her greatest success and focus has been seen in singles. Her early success in doubles came mostly in partnership with Li Ting; but more recently she has made a charming habit of forming temporary women's doubles partnerships with players with whom she has previously enjoyed a healthy rivalry through repeated head-to-head meetings in singles tournaments, notably Liu Nan-Nan, Nicole Pratt, Yan Zi and Jelena Jankovic.
