Julia Schruff

Coached by father, Gerhard Schruff. Started playing at age five when father introduced her to the game at a neighborhood tennis court. Baseliner who favors backhand drop-shot and clay courts. Parents are Ingrid and Gerhard; both play recreational tennis. Graduated from Peutinger Gymnasium in September 1999. Has a pet cat named Trixi. Favorites include the color blue, roses, author Joy Fielding, actor Julia Roberts and Italian cuisine. Favorite past-times include shopping and going out with boyfriend and friends. Relaxes by listening to music. Superstitious about eating same breakfast at tournaments. Considers herself a quiet but friendly person. Admires father because he is so hard-working.
