Arantxa Parra Santonja

Coached by Elejo Mancisidor. Introduced to tennis at age 10 by parents. Graduated from high school in 2001. Parents (father, Nariano Parra Ruiz, and mother, Maria Luisa Santonja Gaso) are school teachers; sister, Tania, is a student. Whole family plays recreational tennis. Favorites include the color red, the movie Grease, actor Anthony Hopkins, and Gazpacho Andaluz. To pass time, watches TV and listens to music. City of choice is New York. Self-described as a shy pessimist and hard worker. Admires Monica Seles. Enjoys traveling to new places, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
